2011 Street League heads to the desert for stop #3

This weekend Glendale, Arizona is the site for the 3rd stop of the 2011 Street League series where once again $150,000 will be up for grabs. This is the final stop and last chance to qualify for the championships in New Jersey on August 28th.

So far the tour hasn't been much of a competition as Nyjah Huston has dominated in Seattle and Kansas City. Nyjah's recipe for success is his ability to do every flip trick, every rail trick, every ledge trick capped off by two of the best tricks so far on the tour; a 360 flip lipping the rail and a backside 360 noseblunt slide.

Nyjah has earned himself $315,000 so far in 2011 from his wins at the first two stops but apparently he's not a believer in superstition when he recently decided to cut off his signature dreadlocks. He better hope his new hair cut isn't the start of serious loosing streak because dreads don't grow back over night.

With the level of skaters competing at Street League there's no reason to think one of these guys can't put it together and top Nyjah in Glendale. Frankly it's time for Chris Cole, the skater known to have "every trick in the book" to step up and win one of these stops. He's too talented to continue to finish in the middle of the pack.

Ryan Sheckler has applied the "go big or go home" strategy so far this year. He continues to go for the massive crowd pleasing tricks which pay off big when landed but does nothing when he falls. It's been proven the way to win at Street League is consistency, not necessarily the biggest tricks. There's no doubt Sheckler has been skating well so if he decides to mix a little strategy in with his big tricks he'll be adding $150,00 to Sheckler inc.

There's a group of skaters with the potential to earn the last automatic spot in the championships in New Jersey by winning the Glendale stop joining Nyjah who has already qualified. The remaining top eight skaters in the overall standings will qualify making up the final ten skaters who will compete for $200,000 as well as the title of Street League Champion.
