Huston Takes First Ever Street League Contest
Nyjah Huston pocketed the biggest payday in skateboarding, $150,000, Saturday in Glandale, AZ at the inaugural Street League skateboarding contest, The DC Pro, at the Jobing.com arena. He edged out new sensation, Shane O'Neal, and Torey Pudwill. Street Leage Skateboarding is MTV realtiy television star, Rob, Drydek' s new business venture that has been years in the making. It uses a state-of-the-art instant judging system. The judging system creates little skateboard chess games since each skater knows the score he needs before each attempt."It was finally time for the world to feel it,'' Dyrdek said. "It was an incredible start. More than that, all the skaters know this is truly an incredible way to present skateboarding. It's the most pressure they've ever had, but was also the most fun they've ever had.''Huston clinched it with a gap to boardslide kickflip out. Road Tested With Gravette
"I remember waking up the next morning and being like, did I tattoo my nipple black. I couldn't figure out if it was a dream or not, and I didn't want to look." That my friends is pretty much the best way to open a post, a heavy quote from a heavy individual. It's from the newest installment of the Volcom series Road Tested, the David Gravette edition. He is one of my favorite young skateboarders out there. He's that new breed that can do it all. He along with guys like Grant Taylor and David Loy can skate everything. From the streets to transition they have it all wired, and Gravette is the badass of the group. In reference to the his Honolulu airport story, the same exact thing happened to me in that airport, it's just I wasn't flying first class. Plus, someone stole the autobiography of Salvador Dali I was reading when I passed out, so not only did no one wake me up, someone stole my book off my chest while I was passed out.

His momentum continued right into the final, where he sealed the deal with solid wave selection and strategy. With two victories in two of his past three events on the ASP European Junior Tour - combined with a fifth place finish, Martin locked up 2010 European Junior title.

Nyjah Commits To Street League
Nyjah Huston, has confirmed he will skate in Rob Dyrdek's new contest series Street League. Huston was the controversial runner-up of this year's Maloof Money Cup OC with many feeling he deserved the $100,000 first place prize not event winner, Chris Cole. And it's not the first time this has happened to Huston. In 2008 at the inaugural Money Cup many felt he should of finished ahead of first place finisher, Paul Rodriguez.The commitment to compete in this new competitive venture will give Huston the chance to finally edge out Cole and Rodriguez, who will both be competing. The three will once again be the biggest stage in skateboarding in competition for a large cash prize. Drydek and skateboarding and reality super-star, Ryan Sheckler, have both gone on the record to claim this will be the next big thing in skateboarding.The first event of Street League Skateboarding is set to kick off in Phoenix, Arizona on August 23 at the Jobing.com Arena. It is a three piece tour this year and will move on to Southern California at the Citizen's Bank Arena, and will wrap-up in Las Vegas at the Thomas and Mack Arena. Brett Simpson, Hungtington Beach's hometown hero, defeated number one ranked Jordy Smith and 9-time world champion Kelly Slater en route to winning the US Open of Surfing for the second year in a row at his home break. And street skater Chris Cole topped three-peating at the Maloof Money Cup. Both Simpson and Cole walked off with 100-grand for their victories.

Rip Curl Freeride Pro 2010 - Day One Highlights
Some of the best skiiers and snowboarders from Australia decended on Thredbo for the Rip Curl Freeride Pro. WIth 15 centimeters of fresh overnight and fresh bluebird conditions for the comp day, the riding was EPIC! Distributed by Tubemogul.

Gravette WIns Maloof Best Trick
David Gravette is one of the best young skaters out there. From street to transition he has it wired, and he proved it at the Maloof Money Cup on Sunday when he won Best Trick for his 50-50 kickflip out on the rainbow rail. I personally preferred his 50-50 to beer chug over the rail, which is one of his signature moves. Last Sunday there was a bit of an uproar at the 2010 Maloof Money Cup OC. The unbeatable Chris Cole was supposedly beaten by the kid with dreadlocks as long as his body, Nyjah Huston, but in the end still finished atop the leader board. Former US Ski Team member Daron Rahlves joins the TGR crew in Alaska during this week's Almost Live. While everyone is stoked to have him around, the terrain remains unforgiving and Rahlves takes a nasty crash on his first run while skiing a line off the shoulder of a granite feature known as the Devil's Thumb.
