Owen Wright defeated Kelly Slater in the final to win the Quiksilver Pro New York and the coveted $300,000 prize. Meanwhile Villopoto became the 12th rider in AMA history to win both the Supercross and Outdoor disciplines in the same year, And finally unlike his performance at Summer X Games, White was not able to overtake Piierre-Luc Gagnon in the vert ramp, a PLG took the ratings lead heading into the Dew Tour Championships in Las Vegas.

Three generations of Vert skaters on display in Venice Beach
The unique vert contest featured three generations of skateboarders teaming up to compete in four mini contests. In front of a solid crowd on the famed Venice Beach boardwalk the team of Tony Hawk, Andy Macdonald, and Mitchie Brusco took first place at the first-ever Sonic Generations of Skate.
Tony Hawk(43) and Andy Mac(38) have both been competing long before than their third teammate (14) Mitchie was even born. During the doubles competition Tony and Andy showed the chemistry..

The singing skater from Santa Cruz with the X Factor
Years ago Chris Rene was merely a popular member of the thriving skateboarding scene in and around Santa Cruz, California, a town steeped in surf/skate culture. Life was fun and simple then. Like a handful of his friends, when he wasn't rolling through town or sliding down rails at the skate park he was usually playing music. Sadlly, he also started dabbling in drugs.
