Shaun White talks skate game, Dew Tour on Leno

Last night, Shaun White made an appearance on Jay Leno's Tonight Show and delivered as the confidant, witty, and determined red head his fans and sponsors adore him for.

The "Animal" sauntered on stage as Leno's first guest and was introduced as "the greatest snowboarder of all time." Snowboarding, however, was only mentioned briefly as the focus of the promotional stop centered on the release of Shaun White's Skateboarding, and next week's Dew Tour Championships in Las Vegas.

Looking quite comfortable in the guest chair, Shaun chummed it up with Leno, cracked jokes, and even took a few jabs at himself displaying a humble side not often seen by the superstar. He let in on the ankle injury that kept him out of the first Dew Tour in Boston this summer, and claimed he inflicted it upon himself by simply stepping off a curb. White said he "was so embarrassed" that it didn't happen by doing something extreme, and snappily added that Leno was the first to know real cause of the accident.

Friendly conversation dominated the two part interview with White talking about a recent surf trip to the Maldives, his inability to skate in public places for fear of being "heckled" by little kids and the frustration he faces when his friends beat him as him in Shaun White Skateboarding.

The video game, slated to hit shelfs October 24, looks to be similar to his best selling snowboard game but contains more perks and freedoms as a player. Check out a demo here.

The interview was well rounded and a nice look into what White's been up to, but a piece of breaking news was noticeably missing. An article by USA Today reveals that Shaun White and Oakley have teamed up to headline an big air event in Beijing later this year.

The Oakley and Shaun White Air and Style in Beijing will be kicking off the snow season in early December. Details of this event are sparse, but it seems that failing to mention this major news may have been Shaun's way of delaying his snowboard season, at least momentarily, so he can hold unto the last bits of summer and skating, before the real madness begins.
