Brett Simpson, Hungtington Beach's hometown hero, defeated number one ranked Jordy Smith and 9-time world champion Kelly Slater en route to winning the US Open of Surfing for the second year in a row at his home break. And street skater Chris Cole topped three-peating at the Maloof Money Cup. Both Simpson and Cole walked off with 100-grand for their victories.
